i made: outdoor palm springs party for under $50

stirrers & flowers

I’ve made these stirrers before, very easy.

  1.  find a photo
  2. copy and paste it 4 times across; 5 sets down
  3. using avery shipping labels (4 X 2), make sure your images and the labels pair up. i just hold the photos in front of the labels (up to the light )
  4. load labels and print
  5. take stirrers, peel stickers, and place the stirrer in the center
  6. fold over, crease, stick  - enjoy!

The flowers were what they were, I just grabbed roses and another bouquet with more filler flowers from Ralph’s .

stuck the stirrers everywhere

Table:

  • bought handkerchiefs from a fabric store, wrapped them up with raffia string, and stuck a stirrer in them
  • cheap ball jars with candles
  • the green lanterns are from Target; about $3 each
  • the initials were from a fabric store too; about $3 each
  • the moss square was a new find in the floral section of craft store – $8

initials on the green

enjoying the party

party scene and the pool

This was the birthday party I was planning for last week. The birthday boy’s girlfriend had a chef come to the house = amazing.

I think the casual and cost-conscious decor paired well with the Palm Springs Desert.

i should make: west elm and restoration knock-offs

less inspiration, more copy

West Elm Inspired:

  • The wood slates are a store display. They would be so easy to make; just use scrapes…
  • The terrariums are on sale, but I think I can make one cheaper – will copy

The bird cage lamp. They are so expensive!

Restoration Hardware

Of course, I think I can make one. I’ll buy a vintage bird cage stand and then have the chandelier installed in the center (like the 3rd pic above). Sounds easy enough….

i should buy: a horse hair brush

How great are these pieces? I went furniture cruising with my mom. Love the natural neutrals, and the horse hair brush thing. Must buy one for the coffee table.

i should make: preppin’ for a b-day bash

I have a friend’s big number b-day coming up. He’s a gem – to celebrate he rented a house in Palm Springs….I know, right?

I have no idea what the space or set-up will be like. But, I’m imagining…

an outdoor seating:

with rustic decor,

sectioned by paper placemats and

folded handkerchief napkins,

accented with masculine flowers and

diy tassel garland!

Colors: We’ll, have to see what I can find floral wise in Palm Springs, but I’m thinking cream and neutrals.

More to come, all sources linked. Enjoy!
